| Overview |
Meeting the US government's mandated transition to IPv6 without forsaking critical serial and cell-based functionality is a challenge even without considering budget constraints. The new Broadmore IP/MPLS network interface helps solve this conundrum by providing an economical multiplexer that supports TDM, ATM, serial, and cell-based data types, and securely converts all of them to psuedowires for IP transport at gigabyte speeds. Mission critical legacy data can be smoothly transitioned to the GiG without mass replacement. Multiple timing recovery options, based on telecom standards, ensure that the data that enters the IP cloud exits in order and precedence on the other side. Psuedowire provisioning routes data paths securely, ensuring critical mission data makes it to the proper location on time, every time.
TThe Broadmore 500 and 1700 platforms provide support for multiple government missions. They are FIPS 140-2 and Common Criteria validated, ensuring secure management. They support multiple legacy interfaces, including variable bit-rate serial speeds up to 274Mbps per interface, cell-based interfaces, including HSSI, of up to 52 Mbps with crypto-resynch capabilities, and TDM interfaces, including DS1, E1, DS3 and E3, both structured and unstructured. The new IP/MPLS network interface provides secure transport of all of these services over both IPv4 and IPv6 IP/MPLS networks. Bidirectional forwarding detection (BFD) and MPLS E-LSP ensure mission critical data are routed correctly. The Broadmore with IP/MPLS economically supports mission critical data conversions without forklift upgrades.
